Bude has been allocated £48K by Cornwall Council from the Town Vitality Fund specifically for a feasibility study to consult with the businesses and community. Its purpose is to gather evidence through consultation and audit, and to provide recommendations for projects that could contribute to Bude’s economic development. This will help establish whether Bude could qualify for further funding from other sources such as the Shared Prosperity Fund.
The Facts
Your Questions Answered
Why can't Bude be left as it is?
Research shows that the function of a town centre is changing from being a retail hub to providing experiences that draw people in and help to maintain the economic viability of a town in the 21st century. The Town Team is not pre-judging any outcome from the feasibility study and it may well result in Bude staying the same.
